And this, ladies and gentlemen, is what i wear to sleep. I didn’t take a full body picture, but the surprise was supposed to be something else anyway. guess what was it! correct one gets the apple on my table oO
This is my desperate attempt to cling to the goodness of home. I needed SOUP and they have nothing but chowder and creams here, so i jumped on the chinese restaurant one block away from college that offered ‘chicken noodle soup’ but it turned out to be not even instant noodle material – which just struck me! WTF I COULD HAVE JUST HAD INSTAND NOODLE – this costed $6+
Aren’t you just so disappointed there aren’t any pictures of me? *sticks tongue out*
Truthfully, I haven’t had the mood to take pictures prior to this. Due to personal and They Shall Not Be Named reasons I was quite down the past week. But the first day of class kicked me out of it. I love going back to class
you shall hear from me a few weeks from now and see how i complain about it… but so far, i love love.
A few people have asked me ‘How is Boston!!’ and i usually answer them in a way that rivals how i answer the ‘how are you today’s that are asked very frequently here.
Blankly.
Truthfully I don’t know how to answer that question (that honestly is getting repetitive). Boston is different yet not. Sure i’m now a REALLY SMALL minority, and in a different country, different currency, different side of the road; but to me everything doesn’t seem changed. The process where strangers become friends is but a mirror image of what we would have experienced on the first day of school back in Malaysia. I will stop my comparisons here because I will only use the words ‘not different’, ’similar’ and ’same’ again and it irritates me to constantly reiterate the same word in a same paragraph.
But perhaps this observation is made by one who has gotten used to the left-hand drives and ‘how do you do’s, thus i can happily say that Boston is different, yet same. I do wish that movie ticket charges could change, though. Do you believe they have no student rates (except on thurs) and it’s bloody $8.75 for a ticket! I scream murder when i think about how much we’ve spent on watching films… but the movies we went for were ALL worth it. So far it’s slumdog millionaire, revolutionary road (cried like shit), the curious case of benjamin button, the wrestler, and Milk (also shed some tears). In every one of these movies I smiled, feared and cried (in some cases just a little whimper) for the characters. i’ve never had a better week catching movies <3
And you will also be pleased to know that though i was really fearful of the cold, I no longer don the long johns for my torso and am working on shedding the one I wear underneath my jeans. Be proud of me!
do try and gain some weight =P
i am convinced you lose more weight when you’re in a foreign country!
I’m guessing the surprise is the fact that you’re wearing red. We all know how awful you look in red hehehe.
The perks of the States! I only get to watch Slumdog on Youtube, boo. I saw Benjamin Button and I thought it was a teeny weeny tad bit too long…but it was awesome to see Pitt age backward. I mean, come on!
Glad to hear that you’re, erm, shedding clothes despite the cold. I heard from my friend (you know, the one who flew the same time you did) how erratic the weather can get, so do take care; it’s still too early for you to catch a cold, touch wood.
Just so you know, Sonia is doing fine and coping well with the rest of us. We are doing a revised, more hip version of Gongxi. Actually, listen to more of that 14 Karat Soul CD he force-fed us and you’ll get what I mean. He, the Melvin, is still the Melvin, if you’ve not heard from Chris yet. Which reminds me, I’m so chagrined that you emailed him and him only T_T Where is the love, Xiao?!
ehh girls normally put on weight leh!!!
haha good to hear you’re loving classes
that bowl of ‘noodles’ looks disgusting.
