Judging by the amount of time I’ve spent at home since coming back from australia

I left home and came home again just to realize that I missed home.

Happy moment: when ma, kor, qiao and I were huddled around a tiny iphone blasting a ragdoll into the scribbly unknown, hoping to hit a little red bullseye to get to the next level.

Unhappy … :  when the cards i made for them are stored into a closed cupboard! They’re made to be shown to the world poor lil’ things *sheds tears for cards*

EDIT!!: He smiled and said it’s pretty! Oh, made my day. aih i’m such an easy person to please. but happiness happiness!

Edit x2: (typed to xin but garnered no reply because it’s 4am there and she’s obviously asleep) there’s some sort of weird brother-worship i have in my system. why do i have an urge to jump and laugh and hug people when kor likes the things i do -__-

There was a knock and a slight crash on my bedroom door – the sound it makes as someone outside tries to open it when it’s locked. As it is 1.30am, I knew only one person would be doing that, thus I jumped out of my chair and opened it. Daddy looked the way he looks past midnight, slightly dazed and grumpy (then again, he looks grumpy all the time!) and he muttered something about checking if I’m home.

So, as per usual, I go up to him for a hug. He smiles and returns my hug. Both of us move in unison and simultaneously give each other’s butt a couple of smacks. And together, laugh.

There’s something reassuring hearing papa’s voice again. Although all we talked about was flight tickets, I felt the safety net my dad fights so hard to provide for us, in a minute’s of conversation alone. It’s not a net I should go back into, but it’s reassuring nonetheless. It’s a little moment of peace. Thanks, dad.

This was originally my Day 2 picture because the bulk of my day was spent in Dadeland Mall. One absurdly (we need these in Boston) huge cluster of malls. It links Macy’s and Nordstrom and Sax Fifth Avenue and JCPenney and one or two more malls so I guess if i had to compare the size… i’d ask you to imagine midvalley’s 3-4 floors on one single ground floor.

This is me in the all-known Abercrombie & Fitch (sigh. that’s like one of the cheapest shops there. which is not anywhere cheap. i shopped mostly clearance as usual T___T) I should stop shopping A&F because all my clothes seem to be from there and obviously it’ll limit my style – and make all my clothes blue/white/gray (A&F’s signature colours)

However, the picture was bumped off the spot because of this one!

Project 365: Day 2 – In the Wooden Teepee in the Backyard with Ethan

What began as a simple task of snapping pictures of the backyard became a full-fledged workout, at least on my part. Apparently I have more chemistry with little boys? They’re all little sports when it comes to taking pictures so that’s great I love the missing tooth in this photo.

Anyway, long story short, I didn’t snap any pictures of the backyard, but I can entertain readers who like little kids!

Isn’t this great? T___T I love that my cousin Ethan knows that he’s a lucky kid, though. The exchange went like this:

xiao: We should go canoe-ing (there’s a lake behind the house)
Ethan: I’ve done canoe-ing! Have you done canoe-ing in Malaysia?
xiao: I’ve never done it
Ethan: You’ve never?! Why not!
xiao: because… I don’t have a lake behind my house? haha.
Ethan: yeah. I’m very lucky. 

For all his boisterousness, he can be real sweet He told me today that i’m his favourite cousin. Whilst the elevation of status came really quickly, that’s incredibly sweet! After my 32546179th time piggy-backing them, the last of which was Ethan, he told me he loved me

*cue awwwwww*

And this is Brody, the 5-year-old kid. I chuckle when I think about the similarities within his family and mine. Sean, the eldest, is a sensitive, sentimental kid – you can see him as an absolute romantic; Ethan is loud, active, boisterous, sometimes even belligerent (but sweet on the inside!); whereas Brody is a mix between those two. I always thought I’m a mix of my elder brother and sister.

Qiao is a mix of all of us. She got our best and worst traits all meshed up in her little body! I love dissecting family members

Brody was acting like a bird when I took this picture. Ethan wanted to show the both of us that he could jump down from the top trunk. Sigh, I had heart attacks everytime he jumped off T____T

I’m posting this even though it’s a horrible picture of me! I’m sure you can see why Ethan took this, but I couldn’t get the flash off so the pictures are all overexposed.

Wearing jeans seems to be a fashion faux pas. Now I was just wondering… has it always been like this and i just never knew? or it hasn’t, and i have caught on! (though i’m still gonna wear my jeans D:)

Recently all i want to do is stay home and be immersed in… homeliness. Xin came home and the atmosphere is decidedly brighter and warmer in the Lim household. She always does that to us she’s like the family sunflower.

can’t wait till my laptop gets here! Then i can go to the living room and do whatever i usually do online there! with my mom near me! and my baby sister irritating me! and the tv, and the big uncomfortable sofas, and the wide space and general unruliness surrounding the living room during day time. and endless supply of magically-appearing fruits hoho

I love it

the most (or only, depending on how i want to paint myself =D) interesting moment i had today was when i was coming up to this room to continue my friends marathon – which has been going on for like a week now… i’m starting to talk like all 6 of the characters combined – my aunt from perak, after asking the customary ‘oh don’t you have class tomorrow?’ and i gave her a weird look because i’ve been at home since 4 months ago and as she comes over at least twice a month, she should have noticed that i’m at home every single time she was here. So, I replied as such, and she said ‘oh yeaa. you finished spm right!’ which prompted my eyebrows to go even higher since i completed that two years ago. Again, i reply accordingly, and she exclaimed ‘oh wow. you’re so old already? I keep thinking you were 16!’

Eva IMMEDIATELY panics when i am 2 meters away from her. She stops whining almost as soon as i get into range and smile at her. She loves it (of course, right?) when i scratch her, and when i put my hand under her muzzle she will lie on her back and implore you to scratch her underbelly. i spent my entire day sitting in the garden beside her cage (trying to potty train) reading various books and doing nothing else because i succumb to her whines everytime i step out of the 2 meter radius T_T

sigh how lah. perhaps because she’s a new addition to our lives and she’s an adorable pupppppppy i’ve never been so obsessed in my life! I was worrying about her so much and sitting near her the whole day, I gave my mom the chance to hurl my words about spoiling qiao back at me. a huge oversight at my part. damn

heehee now she’s sleeping. i hope i can sneak off without her barking and whining since she’s loud enough to wake up whole households cause i severely need to bathe! I NEED TO CURE THIS GOD-AWFUL ITCH.

My dad is watching some hokkien series on Astro AEC, to my utter shock. It’s one of those corny (and sad to say, contain repulsively horrible acting and scripts) ones that you’d catch your grandma watching, but never the machos like your father. I gave him my teasing grin and he replied with his impishly bashful one, coupled with a defensive ‘whaaat!’. As Holden Caulfield will say, ‘it just kills me’ that my dad was taking a close look at the clock waiting for the hands to strike 12, then proceeded to fold his legs and snuggle in the couch with a cup of drink, one hand holding the remote. he just never struck me as that kind!
