Ahaha. Sean has asian eyes xD

Due to yesterday’s outing, I decided not to go for horseback riding (sigh) since i’d have to wake up at 8am. Instead, I woke up in time for an ice-skating party Ethan was attending. Did you know you could rent an entire ice-skating rink for a bunch of little kids? Then, did you know most of them can skate well enough to put the entire Sunway Pyramid rink of adults to shame? Also, did you know most of them have their own skates?!?!

I, however, wore short pants, as if my mind told me that ice skating in Miami wouldn’t be so cold -___- the place froze. luckily they had a pro shop (though it leaves its customers feeling very ripped off) and I procured a pair of leggings to ward off the chills. Since an ice-skating rink, larger than the one in pyramid, I might add, was wholly reserved for a group of less than 30, the ice was completely smooth Little things like smooth ice makes xiao a happy skating girl.

The fathers living vicariously through their sons It’s amusing to watch a football match between 5 year old teams with the attention span of… a 5 year old. When I got there, the green team was seriously trying to score a goal whilst the blue team was wrestling each other. The goal was wide open with no goalie in sight. 

Green team still didn’t score, though -__-

After all that, we adjourned to Downtown Miami, which reminded me a of Putrajaya – clean and sparkly. It looked more ‘civilized’ than the other existing places. I’m glad that architectural beauty is now taken into more consideration while city-building Pretty cities = happier place

And then to South Beach. Versace died in one of the houses on this street. The atmosphere is what one expects Miami to be. Filled with music, half-dressed men and women, tans, sunglasses, convertibles…

… like green lamborghinis (we saw two!), restaurants, boats in everyone’s backyards…

I wasn’t too impressed. The sand was coarse! Redang kicks South Beach’s ass any day. The amount of people lounging around the beach is also a sight for me. I’ve never seen so many people converge at just one place to chill before.

While strolling I came to the conclusion that I might be the type of person who likes the idea of a beach, but not the beach itself. I like the idea of going there, chilling, relaxing – but once I reach the place the relaxation doesn’t come because it doesn’t feel all that comfortable anyway. Maybe i’m a spa person hum.

I didn’t get in the water because it was too cold for me.

I promised bikini pictures, i think, and I would love to have crept up to those tanning women and sneak some pictures of them, except I think none of them satisfied the hotness factor (i placed it very high that should come with bikini photos. So, I’ll leave you guys with this. Enjoy!

Project 365: Day 3 – Ascot Farm on Simon

Most of the other pictures are of me sideways, which as we all know i disappear when that happens, so they’re not coming up. The sun was shining directly at me so my eyes were inexistent as well, but otherwise apparently I did very well, Simon trotted and my back was ruler straight the whole time *proud like a little girl*

Ascot Farm is a stable yard thingy in the middle of a residential area called Horse Country. I’m going again on Friday. Maybe we’ll do other things… like jump fences O.O

Before that I thought we were going to go to South Beach (which i found out wasn’t a beach but a place???) so I wore minimal clothing. I have the worse luck ever. I got my period NOW, when I should be on the beach, in the pools, swimming with dolphins T___T

I feel darker from the sun. The sun brings warmth! Isn’t that so great? T_T

By the way, Aunt Sil is so amazing! She works tirelessly and relentlessly to ensure that her children are happy, and never ever loses her temper with them, which is sooo awesome. Her patience > everyone’s. I’ve spent 3 days with the boys, and they’re so horribly active when you don’t want them to. I try to haul myself from tiredness or sleepiness and chase them around the (ginormous) backyard, but that’s nothing compared to having to answer to all three of them shouting on top of their lungs in the car. Aunt Sil takes care of them, works at the office, and turns around to me and asks me all the time if i’m happy T___T if i had my papers i’ll make her a huge card

Must wake up early tomorrow to go to Ethan’s school (Again, isn’t anyone surprised at all on how good I am with the boys? Ethan is positively in love with me I assure you) for a storytelling session or something to that effect. I have to wake up at 8am if i want to shower! Must sleep in 2 hours *ties gambate bandana on forehead* I’m gonna go shower after this post, which ends with what I ate for lunch

Such an irony that my first lobster in USA was from Miami instead of Boston. Maklumlah Boston is famous for its lobsters.

This was originally my Day 2 picture because the bulk of my day was spent in Dadeland Mall. One absurdly (we need these in Boston) huge cluster of malls. It links Macy’s and Nordstrom and Sax Fifth Avenue and JCPenney and one or two more malls so I guess if i had to compare the size… i’d ask you to imagine midvalley’s 3-4 floors on one single ground floor.

This is me in the all-known Abercrombie & Fitch (sigh. that’s like one of the cheapest shops there. which is not anywhere cheap. i shopped mostly clearance as usual T___T) I should stop shopping A&F because all my clothes seem to be from there and obviously it’ll limit my style – and make all my clothes blue/white/gray (A&F’s signature colours)

However, the picture was bumped off the spot because of this one!

Project 365: Day 2 – In the Wooden Teepee in the Backyard with Ethan

What began as a simple task of snapping pictures of the backyard became a full-fledged workout, at least on my part. Apparently I have more chemistry with little boys? They’re all little sports when it comes to taking pictures so that’s great I love the missing tooth in this photo.

Anyway, long story short, I didn’t snap any pictures of the backyard, but I can entertain readers who like little kids!

Isn’t this great? T___T I love that my cousin Ethan knows that he’s a lucky kid, though. The exchange went like this:

xiao: We should go canoe-ing (there’s a lake behind the house)
Ethan: I’ve done canoe-ing! Have you done canoe-ing in Malaysia?
xiao: I’ve never done it
Ethan: You’ve never?! Why not!
xiao: because… I don’t have a lake behind my house? haha.
Ethan: yeah. I’m very lucky. 

For all his boisterousness, he can be real sweet He told me today that i’m his favourite cousin. Whilst the elevation of status came really quickly, that’s incredibly sweet! After my 32546179th time piggy-backing them, the last of which was Ethan, he told me he loved me

*cue awwwwww*

And this is Brody, the 5-year-old kid. I chuckle when I think about the similarities within his family and mine. Sean, the eldest, is a sensitive, sentimental kid – you can see him as an absolute romantic; Ethan is loud, active, boisterous, sometimes even belligerent (but sweet on the inside!); whereas Brody is a mix between those two. I always thought I’m a mix of my elder brother and sister.

Qiao is a mix of all of us. She got our best and worst traits all meshed up in her little body! I love dissecting family members

Brody was acting like a bird when I took this picture. Ethan wanted to show the both of us that he could jump down from the top trunk. Sigh, I had heart attacks everytime he jumped off T____T

I’m posting this even though it’s a horrible picture of me! I’m sure you can see why Ethan took this, but I couldn’t get the flash off so the pictures are all overexposed. 

Anyway, here are some videos for anyone to see me playing with the kids (shocker, that). I haven’t had so much exercise in months. It’s also evidence that my mum’s a great tailor. The skirt never flew up enough for anything inappropriate to be exposed. lols at mum’s creation

I’m jumping on the bandwagon and going to attempt Project 365: I will take a photo that sums up my day, everyday. That’s the plan. Mm hmm. Lucky (? haha) for me Day One has more than one, but that’s of course because I’m on holiday, no?

Introducing two out of three of my cousins, Ethan and Sean Lim. Since I’m so white now I don’t think I differ that much from them haha. My aunt is Argentinean (again with the stupid rotating I couldn’t post up her picture) thus the mixed features on my cousins.

I had lunch with this interesting mix of people today. Aunt Sil invited them over for a casual lunch today. We had Argentinean cuisine/bbq and the beef tasted great – very unlike the dry meats we get from our own Malaysian attempts. Unfortunately I didn’t catch all their names!
